LoveTrane is Harlem pianist Eric Plaks' ongoing tribute to John Coltrane. Proceeding through Coltrane's repertoire of original compositions and tunes strongly linked to him in alphabetical order has been a journey of many years, with the mindblowing contributions of Ayumi Ishito - tenor sax, Zach Swanson - bass, and Jon Panikkar - drums completing the group. Additionally, depending on the repertoire dictated by the next batch of tunes, LoveTrane is augmented into a larger ensemble. For the upcoming June 2026 gig, LoveTrane presents the following new tunes in the alphabetical journey: Pristine (1958), The Promise (1963), Reverend King (1966), and Russian Lullaby (by Irving Berlin, 1958).
